These Language Development Milestones provide a way for parents and caregivers of deaf and hard of hearing children to track their children’s age-appropriate language growth. The milestones can be part of the children’s Individualized Family Service Plan or Individualized Education Program for progress tracking. Please check out the California Department of Education website for deaf education information!

Gallaudet University’s Motion Light Lab has created an app, Count With Us: A Nursery Rhyme Book, designed for children ages 0-5 years old. The story on this app combines illustrations and storytelling into captivating rhythmic prose in American Sign Language and English. Please click on the link to download this app for free!
