Module 5 provides information on cochlear implants, surgical considerations, activation, and expectations.
In Module 5, you will:
- learn about the audiologic criteria for cochlear implantation,
- see how a cochlear implant works,
- develop an understanding of the surgical procedure,
- learn about the activation process and appropriate expectations,
- develop an understanding of bilateral implantation considerations, and
- learn about the factors that impact a positive outcome.
