Creating Anti-Racist Space

Organization Wide Values and Statements of Anti-Racism

Phase 1:

  • Develop Statement: Anti-Racist Clerc Center
  • Establish organizational structure to support Equity Plan (social justice committees, IEAs, etc.)
  • Establish Budget: Equity Plan
  • Establish process to include BIPOC professionals in decision making
  • Develop organization-wide learning goals/core competencies and include the responsibility of community members to engage in their own individual learning 
  • Review VRRP retirements and design recruitment and succession plans with an Equity lens
  • Collect data to set baseline for key metrics
  • Establish metrics to measure progress on Equity Plan actions
 

Phase 2:

  • Review reports and information from Archives related to the history of Amos Kendall and consider name change through an inclusive process
  • Develop organization-wide dashboard and metrics
 

Phase 3:

  • Review progress and results and design next phase of Equity plan

Training and Professional Development

Phase 1:

  • Contract with consultant to design and implement year-round training plan (Completed)
  • Host Clerc Center-wide Equity Training during Kickoff week (Completed)
  • Implement 1st and 2nd quarter Clerc Center Leadership Team training: Implicit Bias / Systemic Racism
  • Implement 1st quarter Equity training for teachers and school based staff
  • Design detailed training plan for A&O (including HR) and National Programs staff; implement initial phase 
  • Communication plan for year round training plan for employees
 

Phase 2:

  • Explore additional consultants to expand our capacity and fill gaps in training plan or needs
  • Implement 3rd and 4th quarter Clerc Center Leadership Training: Intrinsic Bias / Systemic Racism
  • Implement 3rd and 4th quarter Equity training for teachers and school based staff
  • Implement Phase 2 training for A&O and National Programs staff
  • Leadership training cohort equity module development
  • Design evaluation process for year one of training
 

Phase 3:

  • Review progress and results and design next phase of Equity plan
