Clerc Center Equity Plan

BIPOC Families: Inclusion and Support

Phase 1:

  • Host a forum for BIPOC families to share their experiences and to engage in a conversation about what supports and gatherings would be helpful to them to support online learning and anti-racist work at home
  • Ensure BIPOC families have access to ASL classes provided by KDES
  • Design Diversity Advisory Council (DAC) to create a formal mechanism for BIPOC families to ensure the inclusion of multiple perspectives on school decisions, programs, and ideas
  • Establish a Virtual Tutoring Center to provide academic support, now during remote learning, and in the long term for homework support after school hours
  • Create a special PAC (Parent Advisory Council) to separately interview high-level position candidates for their input

Phase 2:

  • Host the first meeting of the Diversity Advisory Council (DAC)
  • Design the process to include DAC members as a part of the interview process for school leadership positions level Manager and above

Phase 3:

  • Review progress and establish next phase of Equity Plan
