There have been two national conferences related to the use of videoconference technology with deaf and hard of hearing students. Links to those conferences are available below. There are many training opportunities available related to videoconference technology in general. Some of those are listed below. The listing of a training opportunity should in no way be considered an endorsement of that opportunity.

Name: An International Symposium, Instructional Technology and Education of the Deaf - June 27-30, 2005 (at NTID)

Summary: This symposium features presentations and pre-conference workshops related to the use of technology in the instruction of deaf and hard of hearing students through all levels of education. It attracts leaders in the field as well as neophytes, national and international. The site contains information on upcoming conferences as well as links to past conferences. Past conference sites include transcripts of presentations made at that conference and speakers presentation materials when available. The topic of videoconferencing can be found in past and present offerings.

Summary: A three-day international conference on Interactive Videoconferencing (IVC) with the following goals:

  • To convene collaborative work groups to focus on issues related to establishing and promoting quality standards and learning experiences with IVC.
Pre-conference workshops are also offered.
