Search HelpThere are two ways to search the STG database. The most popular way is to look for all the titles our reviewers have submitted that match the criteria you select. In the example below, a teacher is looking for software suitable to help his 4th graders learn keyboarding. He has selected Elementary which covers grades 4-6 from the Grade Levels list of choices and Keyboarding from the Subjects Area list. He would then click on the Start Search button. After a brief wait, he will see a list of all the titles along with brief descriptions, that match the terms he selected. He can then click on any title that interests him in order to see the full review. The more terms you select, the larger number of hits you will receive. However, if you want to see a listing of every title in the database, do not select any terms and simply click on the Start Search button in the yellow box. The second way to search the STG database is by title. Scroll to the lower portion of the Search Page and enter the name of the software you are looking for. Disregard "A" "An, or "The" if it is the first word in the title. You can use either upper or lower case. Then, click on the Start Title Search button. If the title is in the database, you will see it listed along with a brief description. You can then click on the title to see the full review. What do the terms mean? You can learn more about all the terms used for grade levels, subject areas and more on our How to Enter Data page.
