| Since
1995,
the Clerc Center's popular Shared Reading Project (SRP) has
been helping to teach parents and caregivers how to read to
their deaf and hard of hearing children using American Sign
Language. The Clerc Center offers training workshops called
Shared Reading Project: Keys to Success Training for Site Coordinators
for schools and programs that want to set up a SRP site for
families in their area. The workshops are hosted at various
times throughout the year by the Gallaudet University Regional
Centers. (For more details on the workshops, see http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/products/about-tpd-opportunities.html.
In addition to the workshops, the Clerc Center offers a range of
supporting products for families, schools, and programs. These products
include the Reading to Deaf Children:
Learning from Deaf Adults and the Read
It Again and Again videotape and manual sets, and the SRP
book bag series.
