Student Life in the New Millennium: Empowering Education

Katherine A. Jankowski, Ph.D.

This paper underscores Student Life programming as an integral part of deaf and hard of hearing students' education. The author cites numerous research statistics that show deaf college graduates lacking necessary skills in the workplace. She proposes a structured approach in which classroom teachers and Student Life personnel work together to ensure that graduates have the necessary qualities, skills, and preparation they need to succeed in the workplace.
