The Model Secondary School for the Deaf’s (MSSD) Danza Latina concert, February 16-18, featured MSSD students and guest artists performing a variety of modern dance genres, including urban jazz, hip hop, jazz/Latino, funk/hip hop, contemporary, Latino dance, modern/Latino, and modern dance.
The concert, which played to sold out audiences, included the work of choreographers Grace Cooney, Miriam Ganz, Buck Rogers, Bevin McNamara, Fred Beam, Debra Floyd, Tara Downing, and director/choreographer Yola Rozynek.
In addition, there were performances by eight guest companies: Ziva’s Spanish Dance Ensemble, Raider Boys Step Squad, Floyd Project Dance Company, Eleanor Roosevelt High School Dance Company, Wild Zappers/National Deaf Dance Theatre, Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Sigh & Company, and Canae Weiss.
