Winter Dance Concert

"Infinity Modern Dance" features MSSD students performing a variety of dance genres. The concert will inculde dance pieces of well-known deaf and hearing choreographers: Wawa Snipe-Funk Modern; Debra Floyd-Jazz Modern, Monique Holt-New Wave Modern, Tara Miles-Hip-Hop Modern, and Yola Rozynek-Feral Modern.

The performance will be held at Elstad Auditorium at Gallaudet University on February 19, 2004 at 10:00 AM, February 20 and 21, 2004 at 8:00 PM.

There will be six guest dance companies including performers from Washington, D.C.

Cost: $8.00 Adults; $7.00 Students and Senior Citizens (ID card required).

Crew

Students learn technical support skills for plays and concerts. Students will build sets, hang lights, run lights and sound, and make props for MSSD productions.

Spring Play

Students will learn about directing a play, character development, the art of stage make-up, and other skills that are needed to produce a successful play. Through the process of teamwork, learning their characters, coordinating the various elements together, students experience great personal growth that they carry with them throughout their lives.

The 2004 Spring Play will be on Thursday, May 6 at 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM; Friday May 7 at 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM; and Saturday May 8, at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

International Awareness Week

Students will have the opportunity to learn about other cultures. Students will get to sample international food, see clothing worn by people in other countries, and see a panel discussion about the traditions of the world. Respect for diversity and ethnic tolerance is encouraged by all students.

International Awareness Week will be held on March 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, 2004.
