The issue includes articles that follow the theme, “Deaf People on the Job Doing Everything Every Day.” The issue can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/WorldAroundYou/Winter2004/index.html or, along with back issues, essay contest information, glimpses of deaf lives, and other features, at http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/WorldAroundYou/index.html. The collection of the Kendall School Library, the library of Kendall Demonstration Elementary School, can now be found online. The web collection includes the capability to search the catalog by subject, call number, author, title, keyword, categories, and series. The collection can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu:7195/webopac/main?type=KDES. It also includes information about the Kendall School Library.
Details, including scores and photos, of the Hoy Classic IV baseball and softball tournament can be found online at: http://www.deaf-education.info/mssd/Hoy-Tourney/. The website was designed and updated by Model Secondary School for the Deaf junior Shawn Smith. The tournament took place April 30 through May 1.
Info to Go is a centralized source of up-to-date and objective information about topics dealing with deafness and hearing loss for the age group 0-21. A regular feature of On the Green (http://pr.gallaudet.edu/otg), a publication for Gallaudet University faculty and staff, the Clerc Center Happenings columns posted in April discussed the Kendall Demonstration Elementary School Learning Expo and the Presidential Award earned by Model Secondary School for the Deaf science teacher/researcher Mary Ellsworth. The athletic web pages of the Clerc Center have been revised, with the names added of the new Athletes of the Month from the Model Secondary School for the Deaf. Luda Mounty-Weinstock and Shawn Smith were selected for January 2004 and Sarah Martin and Jonathan Kessel were selected for February 2004. “Athlete of the Month” can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/Sports/aotm/index.html.
The March 2004 issue of the Clerc Center Connection, a monthly publication produced by the Clerc Center’s Training and Professional Development and Publications and Information Dissemination offices, has been posted online. Story topics include Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching winner Mary Ellsworth, team activities, frequently asked questions about the Gallaudet University Regional Centers, International Awareness Week, and cool websites.
