-- Actress Shoshannah Stern Interview Featured in World Around You -- The “Upcoming” pages of World Around You, a Clerc Center magazine for deaf and hard of hearing teenagers, has been updated to include an interview with actress Shoshannah Stern, who plays Holly Brodeen on ABC’s “Threat Matrix.” The interview, of which a portion will be printed in an upcoming issue of the magazine, can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/WorldAroundYou/upcoming/stern.html. World Around You, with links to upcoming stories, essay contest information, the current issue, back issues, advertising information, and “Glimpses of Deaf Lives” stories, can be found online at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/WorldAroundYou/index.html. -- KidsWorld Deaf Net Offers New E-Document: Keys to English Print -- The Clerc Center’s KidsWorld Deaf Net has posted a new E-Document, entitled Keys to English Print, a collection of articles about philosophies, techniques, and strategies for enabling deaf and hard of hearing children to develop literacy skills. This collection, containing reformatted versions of fall 2003 Odyssey articles of the same names, includes discussions on Visible English, fingerspelling, Cued Speech, phonics and American Sign Language, Bridges programs, Manipulative Visual English, Reading Recovery, and others. Story topics include the 2003 Junior National Association of the Deaf National Conference, team activities, cool websites, the Gallaudet University Regional Centers directors’ meeting, and American Sign Language information.
