a week-long conference for parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals
who work with deaf and hard of hearing students. More information about
the institute can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/TPD/summer-literacy.html. -- Kendall Demonstration Elementary School Tech Fair Announced -- Information has been announced online about the Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES) Tech Fair 2004, which aims to provide opportunities for families to experience technology as students experience it, to showcase teacher and student work with technology, and to highlight the various technologies used by deaf and hard of hearing people. The website of the Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) Internship Program has been updated with new information, including about the program and information for employers and supervisors. A regular feature of On the Green (http://pr.gallaudet.edu/otg), a publication for Gallaudet University faculty and staff, the Clerc Center Happenings column posted in February described the deaf forum for occupational and physical therapists renewed by the Clerc Center. Info to Go is a centralized source of up-to-date and objective information about topics dealing with deafness and hearing loss for the age group 0-21. The Clerc Center is collecting public input on critical needs for deaf
and hard of hearing children in three priority areas: family involvement,
literacy, and transition from high school to postsecondary education and
employment. Comments about these critical needs are being collected through
an on-line questionnaire that can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/About/info-request.asp.
No personally identifying information will be included with the responses
and the results will be summarized in a future issue of Odyssey
