The directory of participants in the Shared Reading Project is now offered online. The Shared Reading Project is a Clerc Center program that teaches parents and caregivers how to read to their deaf children and strategies to make book sharing most effective. This new Web page can be found at: http://clerccenterdb.gallaudet.edu/srpdirectory/srp.aspx.
Info to Go is a centralized source of up-to-date and objective information about topics dealing with deafness and hearing loss for the age group 0-21. The Web pages of World Around You, a Clerc Center magazine for deaf and hard of hearing teenagers, have been updated to include science articles from the magazine’s archive. The articles, by Dr. Harry Lang, are posted in the special “Glimpses of Deaf Lives” section and, while they will expand with time, include “Can Deaf People Succeed in Science? You Bet!” and “Six Moon Craters Named for Deaf Scientists.” The articles can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/WorldAroundYou/science.html. World Around You, with links to upcoming stories, essay contest information, the current issue, back issues, advertising information, and “Glimpses of Deaf Lives” stories, can be found online at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/WorldAroundYou/index.html.
A regular feature of On the Green (http://pr.gallaudet.edu/otg), a publication for Gallaudet University faculty and staff, the Clerc Center Happenings columns posted in August include articles about the Clerc Center’s first Summer Literacy Institute and the two four-day Sports Camps for deaf and hard of hearing children held at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School.
