The Web pages of World Around You, a Clerc Center magazine for deaf and hard of hearing teenagers, have been updated. Included in the updates is a new feature that provides readers with a glimpse of what is to come in future issues of the magazine. This new page can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/WorldAroundYou/upcoming.html. The Web page about the National Essay Contest has also been revised. It can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/WorldAroundYou/essay.html. World Around You, with links to upcoming stories, essay contest information, the current issue, back issues, advertising information, and special “glimpses of deaf lives” stories, can be found online at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/WorldAroundYou/index.html.
A regular feature of On the Green (http://pr.gallaudet.edu/otg), a publication for Gallaudet University faculty and staff, the Clerc Center Happenings column posted in May is an article about the Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) Work Experience Program. The column can be viewed at:
Deaf and hard of hearing teens have honored their heroes in Gallaudet’s National Essay Contest. The winners of the 2003 contest have been posted online. Info to Go is a centralized source of up-to-date and objective information about topics dealing with deafness and hearing loss for the age group 0-21. MSSD’s Athletes of the Month program honors student athletes who exemplify team spirit and demonstrate leadership abilities, work ethics, and personal achievement. In May, the names of the Athletes of the Month for April--Katy Larson and Rasco Brobbey--were posted online at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/Sports/aotm/2003-04.html.
