-- Conference List, Interpreting Resources Revised, Added in Info to Go -- Info to Go is a centralized source of up-to-date and objective information about topics dealing with deafness and hearing loss for the age group 0-21. The following Info to Go Web pages were updated in September: -- Upcoming Conferences and Exhibits (http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/InfoToGo/conflist.html) -- Statewide Services for People Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/InfoToGo/501.html) -- Information on Deafness (http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/InfoToGo/index.html) In addition, Info to Go has added a new document online, Resources for Educational Interpreting. This list of resources is offered as a way to help identify what has already been done to assist groups beginning the process of developing guidelines and standards for educational interpreters. It can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/InfoToGo/edinterp.html.
For more information about Info to Go, visit: -- MSSD Sports Page Links to Schedule, Directions to Local High Schools -- The sports Web page for the Model Secondary School for the Deaf has been updated to include links to MSSD’s schedules and directions to local high schools for family and friends attending away games. The Web page also describes athletics at the school. It can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/Sports/index.html. -- Clerc Center Offers Three Ways to Search Its Web Site-- There are three ways to search the Clerc Center Web site. Using Master.com, only Clerc Center Web servers are searched. Using Google.com, all of Gallaudet’s Web servers can be searched. Gallaudet also has its own search engine. The Google search can compensate for typos, (that is, if you type “Jonse" and it does not find anything by that term, it will assume you meant "Jones" and search again automatically). Google also offers the option of viewing PDF files as HTML. This auto conversion is not perfect, but it can be helpful for people who do not have Acrobat Reader installed on their computers. All three ways are accessible from: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/advancedsearch.html.-- TecEds Site’s Sponsors, Training Pages Undergo Revisions -- The sponsors and training pages of the Technology in Education Can Empower Deaf Students (TecEds) Web site have been revised. The training page includes links to training materials and resources and current and upcoming training opportunities available to Clerc Center teachers and staff and to the teachers of deaf and hard of hearing students around the nation. It can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/TecEds/training.html. The sponsors page can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/TecEds/sponsors.html. For more information about TecEds, visit: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/TecEds/index.html. -- MSSD’s Learning Resources Center Adds New Titles -- The Learning Resources Center (LRC) of MSSD has revised its Web site to include new titles. The “Reader Advisory” page of the LRC Web site includes the new titles, guided reading library resources, team bibliographies, and other information. It can be found at: http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/Literacy/MSSDLRC/advisory.html. **************************************************************** Information about this E-Newsletter: **************************************************************** |
