Chris, Curt, and Craig Kuhn, triplets who graduated from the Illinois School for the Deaf, have chosen to come to Gallaudet University where they all three play sports together.

For their first three years, Chris, Curt, and Craig played baseball. As seniors, they decided to play football together, too.

Curt plays linebacker; Chris plays tight end; and Craig plays offensive tackle. Curt helped Gallaudet win its first game of the season, 22-20, over the University of North Carolina club team. In that victory, Curt picked up a fumble by the opposing quarterback and ran the ball 19 yards for the winning touchdown.

"The Kuhn brothers have excellent leadership traits," said Gallaudet coach Rich Pelletier. "They've been a strong and positive influence on their teammates."

From NFL to Iowa School
—New Book Profiles Football Hero

Kenny Walker, the lineman who broke into the National Football League (NFL) to become its only deaf star in recent years, is the subject of a new book.

Written by Bob Schaller of CrossTraining Publishing, in Grand Island, Nebraska, the book is called Roar of Silence: The Kenny Walker Story.

Readers of this book will learn that Kenny Walker wanted to play football from the time he was a small boy. They will see how he exercised to make himself stronger-by picking up dumpsters with one arm. They will also learn that he has artistic ability.

Walker played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, where he was All-American. Then he was drafted by the Denver Broncos. He played with the Broncos for several years.

Walker is now an assistant football coach at the Iowa School for the Deaf.
