Music
I heard loud music
in my house
in my room
in my bed
in my blanket
in my pillow
in my dream.
Pop!
The music is gone.
Everything disappeared
It was only a dream.
but...
the music
still plays
in my deaf ears.

Staring
As I came walking
down the busy street
People were passing
and staring
at me.
In my mind
I thought I looked bad
I thought I smelled bad.
Maybe my zipper was opened.
Strange day

As I came home
from the busy street
Mother was cooking
and staring at me
She said to me
about the eerie noise. I thought, "Uh-oh."
I checked in my pocket
pulled out
my whistling
hearing aid.

Colorful World
The world has people
with colorful skins
and colorful clothes
and colorful homes
and colorful families
and colorful children
and colorful lands
and colorful animals
and colorful foods
and colorful languages
It is a colorful world.
      Paola Guerro

Hearing
When I hear the bell ring
I go to the phone
there's no one there.
When I hear the dog barking
I think it's my mom
calling me.

Robots
I look at hearing people talking.
I cannot hear them.
I look at their lips
flopping.
I cannot understand.
Their faces have no expression.
They look like robots to me.

Frog?
Am I a frog?
Or am I a toad?
Of a princess comes along
and if she kisses me,
Poof!
I'll be a hard of hearing prince.
