On the back of special Cheerios boxes are photos of some of the top student athletes in America-including the Silent Warriors from the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and the Blind. Like the other teams, the warriors will be featured in upcoming issues of Scholastic publications, and posters of the athletes will be distributed to schools around the country.

"The ASD Warriors met these requirements like they meet an opponent on the basketball court-they surpassed everyone's expectations," said the school's president Joseph Busta. "ASD has a tradition of excellence in sports."

And clearly the warriors are carrying that tradition onward today.

Jessica Lerer, public relations coordinator, asks those who find the special Cheerios boxes to send them to the school. "We want to give one to each of the students here," she said.
