poetry through technology and the Internet. Launched in spring 2000, the
site experiments with new media poetry and provides a forum and a gallery
for the new generation of poets and artists. Don't miss the opportunity

Map Collections: 1500-1999
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/gmdhtml/
If maps are your passion, you will be enthralled by the Geography and
Map Division of the Library of Congress. The on-line "Map Collections"
includes digitized maps from the over 4.5 million-item collection housed
in the library. The maps are divided into categories such as 'Cities/Towns,
and ‘Discovery/Exploration,' are searchable by keyword, subject,
creator, geographical location, and title. History buffs will find little
known facts about the locale and inhabitants on the maps. The older maps
drawn without the visual aids are fascinating and sure to give everyone
an appreciation for the talent of cartographers. The maps are downloadable
and available for reprint should you wish to start your own private "Map
Collections."

The HPC Pals (H.I.P. Pocket Change for you un-initiates) will entertain
and educate you, while revealing the treasures produced by the United
States Mint. Follow the seal's instructions as you 'pass your mouse across
the pot of gold for a sneak peek of what's offered! It's better than finding
a four-leaf clover!' After meeting the HPC Pals, you'll be the lucky 'hip'
one when it comes to pocket change!

This Web site, authored by Joey Green, will give you all sorts of ideas
for well-known products. Of course we all know of dozens of uses for baking
soda, but you're sure to find a few you've never thought of. Do you know
how to petrify a cockroach? Just make a paste with corn starch and plaster
of Paris and you can preserve your own specimens. Come browse through
the products and have fun inventing your own projects. You'll even be
able to research weird facts and bizarre history behind some of these
everyday products.
Native American Sites
http://www.nativeculture.com/lisamitten/Indians.html
Lisa Mitten, a mixed-blood Mohawk urban Indian and former librarian at
the University of Pittsburgh, has developed a Web site for facilitating
communication among Native peoples and between Indians and non-Indians
and as well as providing links to other sites that contain solid information
about American Indians. The links are well-organized, with entries including
individual nations, language, and culture including pow-wows, festivals,
and education, as well as other topics. If you've ever needed a resource
on Native Americans, this site should be the basis for your inquiry and
research.
