"What a great idea", "It was a wonderful party", "The children were delightful".....These are just a few of the comments made by teachers, administrators and parents after attending our Tea Party.

Counselor Judy Shore, communication specialist Bettie Waddy-Smith, art teacher Phil Bogdan and members of the
Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten teams worked with their preschool students on a unit entitled "Our Magnificent Manners".

The children sat with impecable manners as they waited for their guests.

The focus of the unit was on using good manners and creating positive communication skills to last a lifetime. We focused on table manners, theatre and social etiquette, and using words such as "please, thank you, you are welcome, I'm sorry, and excuse me". The children were very enthusiastic and worked hard for several weeks to perfect their manners.

Then it was time to prepare for the final activity, where they could demonstrate their newly acquired skills. In true Reggio Emilia fashion, the collaborative efforts of the classroom teacher, teacher aides, and the team's art specialist culminated in an extraordinary didactic adventure.
