Weekend Activities (WEA)
Weekends at MSSD are enriched through diverse activities
created by both the Residence Education staff and the Student
Body Government (SBG). All activities are advertised on
student bulletin boards in the residence halls and the Eagle
Zone.
Examples of Weekend Activities (WEA) are:
- Visits to shopping malls (different malls on a rotating
basis)
- Food shopping (at different locations on a rotating basis)
- Visits to museums, city parks, state parks, and the Smithsonian
- Outdoor recreation (hiking, camping, canoeing, fishing, etc)
- Visits to amusement parks (water parks, roller coaster
rides, and carnivals)
- Major monthly events such as:
- Kick-Off party (welcome back party)
- Homecoming dance and related events
- Halloween haunted house
- Hay ride and pumpkin carvings
- Thanksgiving party
- Winter holiday party
- Snowball (skiing or ice skating)
- Valentine's Day party
- St. Patrick's Day party
- Pageants
- Prom events
- Graduation party
- End of school party
Students may sign up for these activities at the Eagle
Center. Commuter and local students are welcome to participate
in weekend activities. Commuters and local students need
to acquire approval from their Coordinators of Student Development
(CSD)::
