Clerc Center's Sharing Ideas series comprises papers of interest
to parents and teachers of deaf and hard of hearing children, researchers,
school administrators, support service personnel, and policy makers.
This series provides information on a broad range of topics such
as innovative teaching strategies, conceptual frameworks, and reviews
of current literature in deaf education. The goal is to improve
the quality of education for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Individuals
are encouraged to send proposals for review and possible inclusion.
Content experts review proposals for possible publication.
The findings,
conclusions, and opinions expressed herein are those of the authors
and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Laurent Clerc National
Deaf Education Center or Gallaudet University. These papers are
