MSSD Athletics
The Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) takes great pride in having a comprehensive athletics and physical education program. We offer the following sports:
- Fall sports: Cheerleading, Football, Volleyball
- Winter sports: Basketball, Cheerleading, Wrestling
- Spring sports: Baseball, Softball, Powerlifting, Track & Field
All of our teams compete in the Maryland Independent School Athletic League, with the exception of our football and wrestling teams. Our football team competes in the Capitol Area Football Conference and our wrestling team competes in the Metro Area Wrestling League.
Our teams participate in regional and national deaf school tournaments such as the Spike Out volleyball tournament and the Clerc Classic basketball tournament and cheerleading competition. MSSD also periodically hosts regional and national tournaments.
