Leading National Publications of and for Deaf and Hard of Hearing PeopleThis selected list of publication is the current listing of major deaf publication. It is not limited to all publications produced worldwide for deaf and hard of hearing people. Included is a listing of Web sites, which contain additional listings. American Annals of the Deaf American Annals is a scholarly journal and forefront of research related to the education of deaf people. Each April, a Reference Issue identifies programs and services for deaf people nationwide. Deaf Life A monthly magazine, Deaf Life has been published since 1988. DEAF USA Deaf USA provides news coverage on all activities and issues of interest to deaf and hard of hearing readers as well as professional and associates within this specialized field. It is published six times per year. deafweekly A free weekly e-zine for people who want to keep up with the news in the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. The FRAT The FRAT is published quarterly by the National Fraternal Society. News of Fraternal members is published. $8/yr. Free for NFSD members. Hearing Health Hearing Health is a quarterly resource guide for deaf and hard of hearing people. It is also directed to health care professionals, libraries, agencies, schools, and organizations working with the deaf population. HiP Publishing Group HiP magazine sought to bring together deaf and hard of hearing children through reading and included articles on self-esteem, self-sufficiency, tips, and things kids like to do. It has ceased publication, but back issues are available. The Journal of Deaf Studies and Deaf Education Odyssey Odyssey features articles from a wide range of issues: important to family of deaf/hard of hearing children, and those involved with deaf education. Odyssey is published three times each year by the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center at Gallaudet University and is distributed free of charge to members of the mailing list. The Tactile Mind is published once a year. It carries stories, memoirs, poetry, reviews, interviews, translations, photography, artwork, and other creative media. World Around You World Around You is a magazine for and about deaf and hard of hearing teenagers. It is distributed free of charge and is published by the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center.
