ISCS
provides the necessary services and related activities to support information
systems and maintain computers in the Clerc Center, including:
ISCS provides major support in the development of databases, including
IEP, incident reports, weekend activities, honorees, and communication
statistics for both KDES and MSSD.
The ISCS staff also serve as a resource to
other schools and programs serving students who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Responses are made to phone and mail queries and to visitor requests.
ISCS' outreach activities include:
- ISCS staff meet with visitors to explain the different computer activities
in the Clerc Center and to provide demonstrations of some of those activities.
- Training and technical assistance activities include topics such as:
assessment of computer needs
the impact of computers in deaf education
courses for Windows, Word, Powerpoint, Access, and Netscape.
- Development of the Clerc Center pages
for the World Wide Web.
- Training and conference presentations.
- The TecEds teacher training project
- TecEds
Reviewsa clearinghouse for evaluation information on
commercially available software useful for students who are deaf or
hard of hearing.
- TecEds
Activities Database -- database of activities that describe
how teachers and staff have integrated technology into their interactions
with their students.
