The Clerc Center Honors Program

Kendall Demonstration Elementary School Honors Program  

Academic Explorations:
a CE course created by the Clerc Center Honors Program

The main purpose of the Academic Explorations class is to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, reading comprehension and analysis, self-esteem, and social skills of all KDES students. This is a one-quarter course, and KDES students on teams 1/2/3, 4/5, and 6/7/8 will have the opportunity to take the Academic Explorations course during the school year.

Academic Explorations is designed to enhance students’ awareness and interest in a variety of subject areas. The academic content of this program includes (but is not limited to) the following:

  • Literature
  • Writing
  • ASL
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Theater
  • Art
  • Multimedia
