Gallaudet National Essay, Art, and ASL Contest

2009 contest logoGallaudet University and the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center invite deaf and hard of hearing students 9-19 years old to participate in the annual Gallaudet National Essay, Art, and ASL Contest. A new theme is selected each year for students to write, draw or paint, or sign about in their entries. 

The 2009 theme was "Going Green: What I'm Doing to Help Save the Environment." Students from across the country wrote, drew, or signed about what they can do to help save the environment. This year, students submitted a record 645 entries! Find out who the winners are!
