The Colonial Expo that was held at Kendall by the students of Team 6/7/8 was outstanding. I can't put it into words what an excellent job that the teachers and students had done. I was just a pair of hands helping out and I wouldn't have missed this excitement for the world!

This was a great job done by the students! Team 6/7/8 did an outstanding job pulling together to put on the Expo! The students had done research, reports, drawn pictures, and made arts and crafts from hand. The students and teachers worked hard to sew costumes, build houses and make scenery to show what life was like during the 1600's in the Colonial America.

The students made a life-like replica of Plymouth Rock. They built a replica of the Mayflower ship. The students showed how the Native Americans lived by making a teepee out of a sheet and painting it. They also hand sewed pouches like the ones used by the Native Americans. Mayflower

They sewed bonnets, aprons, scarves, and cravat, from patterns made by Ms. Gabrielle Jones, Mr. Jim Barrie and Mr. Dwight Alston. These were replicas of what was worn by women, children, and men during colonial times.

Everyone who went to the Colonial Expo enjoyed it! Parents, this was a great project because it let you and your children explore and create like never before.

"Keep up the good work, Team 6/7/8."
