Section 3:
Demonstration Schools (KDES and MSSD)
ACCESS CARD SYSTEM—KDES
KDES is equipped with an electronic access system, which requires
a "Smart Card" to enter the building. This system is to improve
the safety of the occupants of Kendall School. The following procedures
apply to this system:
- Please assist the department of Safety & Security by identifying
anyone who destroys, damages or tampers with any part of the system.
- Please do not loan you Access/ID card to another person for any reason.
- Always enter and exit the building through the designated doors.
- Under no circumstances should you prop open any exterior door. Although
doing so may seem convenient, you place yourself and others in possible
danger.
- Do not punch holes in your Access/ID card. If you wish to attach the
card to a key ring or chain, the Department of Safety & Security
has a special hole punch for the cards. An improperly punched card will
cause the card not to work.
- The cost for damaged or lost cards will be $20.00. You must pay at
the cashier's office located in the basement of College Hall and bring
the receipt to DOSS to obtain a new Access/ID card.
- To enter the building after 6:00 PM and on weekends DOSS must receive
a signed letter of approval from your department head.
- Report lost or stolen cards to DOSS immediately.
- For any problems with cards contact DOSS or stop by the office located
in the basement of Carlin Hall.
